Steve Olenick

In 1983 Steve Olenick left his position as Associate Professor of Music at Berklee College of Music to open his own company. Initially composing music for television and providing cleared music research and rights to clients, he found himself with a large pool of Producers asking for him to record their voice overs. So in 1986 with virtually no experience in recording studios he opened AudioLink in the Filmarts Production Center mixing for Interactive Video Discs, thus starting his long carreer in Interactive Media.

He consulted in the development of custom audio tools in the days before Wave audio - when making a one-off CD-ROM required sending a DAT tape to 3M and waiting for weeks.

Steve has always believed in treating people well, be it clients, staff or vendors. This simple approach has enabled him to keep the lights on, the machines running – and people gainfully employed. As odd as it may sound, Steve likes to write checks, almost as much as people like to receive them!

Equipment has become inexpensive these days, it is the experience and skills of people that create value.
